Chemical Dyes to Attract Customers ! Yes. Believe it or not. These chemicals are being used to attract the attention of a customer like you or me ! Third world country syndrome ! May be or may not be ! Don’t know. Next time you see attractive fruits and vegetables, have a second thought ! Are they artificially dyed ! Are they glowing ! Are they extra lustrous !

Use your common sense to judge ! You can use some plain techniques to Test. Like, you can use plain water to test whether the ‘dye’ is washed away or sticking for longer. Or, are they having some smells !

If they are vegetables, then you are luckier that you will boil before eating. But if those are Fruits , then you run the risk of eating those fruits raw and the chemicals will get entry to your stomach and blood. So ‘clean’ the fruits ‘properly’ before you eat !

The people or the business people ‘misusing’ these techniques may be unaware that they are committing crimes. Or they might be guided by their ‘profit’ motive.

We live in a world today which is primarily guided by the tenets of consumerism, thanks to the ‘ Media publicity ‘. So it is not unnatural that as human being will be unaffected by this phenomenon.

We need to ‘educate’ and ‘sensitize’ such people so that they can stay away from such activities. They should be reminded that such activities will affect themselves and their generation as well !

The regulatory bodies of the Govt.s have a role to play in this matter, needless to say.

It is very unfortunate that common people play the role of just onlookers, they don’t report to responsible authorities !
